tips for corded drills: Don't force the tool, let the drill bit do the
work. Keep the speed up, don't stall. Secure the material being drilled.
Always hold the drill by insulated gripping surfaces and use the auxiliary handle
(if provided) for maximum control over torque reaction or kick-back. Use
only accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer for the drill. Do not
exceed recommended capacities. Do not use dull or broken accessories.
Tool tips
for cordless drills: When screwing into wood, it is recommended to pre-drill
a hole. Simply drill a hole that is smaller in diameter than the shaft of the
screw. This will allow the screw to grab onto the wood without cracking the material.
Do not force the tool, let the drill bit do the work. Keep the speed up,
do not stall the drill. Secure the material being drilled. Always hold the
drill by insulated gripping surface and use the auxiliary handle (if provided)
for maximun control over torque reaction or kick-back. When drilling a hole,
try to keep the line of drill constant. Changing the drill line during the drilling
operation may result in inaccurate hole size as well as unneeded strain on the
drill. Always try to use the correct driver bit for the screw. This is usually
labeled on the box of screws. If a different driver bit size is used, you may
strip or break the screw. Tool
tips for circular saws: Make sure the blade depth is adjusted for the
proper depth. The tip of the blade should extend the length of 1/2 tooth below
the surface of the wood. This increases the efficiency of the blade, creates a
smoother cut and reduces the chance of kickback. For making long cuts, a
rip fence may be used which helps guide the saw to make straighter cuts.
When changing the blade make sure the cord is unplugged to help reduce the chance
of accidental activation of the tool. Using the remote lift lever on the
5375 helps make pocket or plunge cuts safely and easily.
